Inter clinched the 2023/24 Serie A title with a 2-1 victory over city rivals AC Milan on Matchday 33, thanks to a dominant display which piled more pressure on Stefano Pioli despite a late rally.

The scoring was opened with Francesco Acerbi heading in after a corner had been flicked towards him, and then Marcus Thuram scored with a low finish as the second half began. Inter could have scored a lot more but Fikayo Tomori headed Milan back into the game in the latter stages. The match ended with violent flashpoints that saw Denzel Dumfries, Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria all receive straight red cards.

Inter have now won 20 Serie A titles and will have a second star on their kits from next season, whilst Milan can only continue fighting to finish second.
