The Serie A champions will begin the defence of their crown on Saturday evening as Napoli travel slightly north to take on the newly-promoted Frosinone at the Stadio Benito Stirpe.

Napoli waltzed to the title during the 2022/23 season with Luciano Spalletti at the helm, but they come into this new campaign with Rudi Garcia in charge after Spalletti opted to take some time away from the sport. Despite that, he is lined up to be the new Italy coach.

That may anger some fans, but they will be pleased that of their best title-winning players, they have only lost Kim Min-jae at this stage of the summer. They will be expecting to get off to a winning start against last season's Serie B champions.

Frosinone vs Napoli: Predicted line-ups

There have been some fresh arrivals for Napoli over the summer but at the moment, none of them are expected to start this match. Matteo Politano should be given the nod to join Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the attack, whilst Piotr Zielinski should start despite potentially leaving the club.

As for Frosinone, Eusebio Di Francesco is expected to mark his return to Serie A by starting with former Sassuolo players Riccardo Marchizza at left-back and Abdou Harroui on the left of a midfield three.
