Serie A table after Matchday 33

The 2023/24 Serie A title was finally captured by Inter as they defeated crosstown rivals AC Milan 2-1 in the final fixture of Matchday 33, after Bologna had began the evening with a stunning 3-1 win over Champions League qualification rivals AS Roma.

At the other end of the table, Sassuolo remain in the relegation zone after an embarrassing 3-0 loss to Lecce, while Udinese fell to 17th position with a last gasp defeat against Hellas Verona.

However, Cagliari and Empoli improved their chances of survival by stealing points from Serie A heavyweights Juventus and Napoli. The Sardinians claimed a 2-2 draw with the Bianconeri, but had led 2-0 at half-time. While the Azzurri beat the reigning champions 1-0 at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

The Neapolitans defeat in Tuscany allowed Lazio to leapfrog them into 7th place with a 1-0 win over Genoa, but Atalanta remain ahead of the Biancocelesti after overcoming Monza 2-1.
