An eight-goal thriller between Inter and Juventus at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza was the standout game of Matchday 9 of the 2024/25 Men's Serie A campaign, but with the 4-4 draw leaving both sides with two dropped points, Napoli pulled further away at the top of the standings with a 1-0 win over Lecce.

Behind the Scudetto chasing trio, AC Milan slipped down to 8th position, but through no fault of their own, as the devastating floods that hit Emilia Romagna forced their fixture with Bologna to be postponed until early 2025.

Robin Gosens celebrates with his Fiorentina teammates (@acffiorentina).

One reason for the Rossoneri falling down the table was the stunning 5-1 thrashing that Fiorentina gave AS Roma on Sunday night, but Atalanta are just behind the Viola, after hitting Hellas Verona for six the previous day. While Udinese and Lazio recorded comprehensive victories over Cagliari and Genoa respectively.

Very little changed among those battling relegation to Serie B, as Monza and Venezia drew 2-2 in Lombardy and Parma stole a point late at home during the visit of Empoli.
