Serie A Table after Matchday 5
Matchday 5 of this 2022/23 Serie A season threw up some of the biggest fixtures of the Italian football calendar, none more so than AC Milan v Inter in the season's first Milan Derby. Beyond that, we had Fiorentina v Juventus to enjoy and Lazio v Napoli as well, and they were all on Saturday - the first of a three-day Matchday.
There were some big winners and losers, naturally. Rafael Leao was at his sublime best for AC Milan in their 3-2 win over Inter, and Napoli came from behind to win 2-1 away at Lazio. In Florence, Fiorentina and Juventus played out the least eventful game of the day and drew 1-1.
On Sunday, the fixture list threw up a shock 4-0 win for Udinese over AS Roma. Verona beat Sampdoria earlier in the day, while Spezia and Bologna drew 2-2, and Cremonese held Sassuolo to a goalless draw for their first point of the season.
Atalanta beat Monza away on Monday night to go top of the table, as Torino beat Lecce and Salernitana drew 2-2 against Empoli in Campania.
