Leaders Napoli started Matchday 7 of the 2024/25 Men's Serie A campaign by reminding everyone that coach Antonio Conte is aiming for Scudetto glory in his first season, as they beat Como 1907 3-1 on Friday night. The same cannot be said of Venezia, though, who dropped to the bottom of the standings after Hellas Verona came from behind to defeat them 2-1.

Marcus Thuram celebrates a hat-trick for Inter (@Inter).

On Saturday, Inter moved into second place courtesy of a Marcus Thuram hat-trick edging them past Torino 3-2 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. That came after Mateo Retegui had also hit three for Atalanta as they romped to a 5-1 victory over struggling Genoa, after Udinese had started the day with a 1-0 win over Lecce that moved them level on points with Lazio and Juventus.

The Bianconcelesti moved into the top four ahead of AC Milan, as the Rossoneri lost 2-1 away at Fiorentina on Sunday night and the Roman club overcome Empoli 2-1. The day also began with Juventus conceding for the first time this season in a disappointing 1-1 draw with Cagliari. While Bologna and Parma, and Monza and AS Roma, played out uninspiring draws.
