AS Roma 2-1 Hellas Verona: Goals, highlights and report - Serie A 2023/24

Newly appointed AS Roma coach Daniele De Rossi got off to a winning start as his side earned a 2-1 win over Hellas Verona in Matchday 21 of Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi took an early lead after some fine footwork from Stephan El Shaarawy teed up Romelu Lukaku, and the former was involved again in setting up Lorenzo Pellegrini for the second. Verona were offered a way back into the game midway through the second half from the penalty spot, but Milan Djuric skied his effort.

The visitors did halve the deficit in some style as Michael Folorunsho fired in a magnificent swerving effort from range, but Roma were able to hold out for a win that sees them move up to eighth place. Verona remain in the relegation zone.
