Celtic 1-2 Lazio: Goals, highlights and report – Champions League 2023/24
Lazio once again required a late, late goal on Champions League Matchday 2 in Group E against Celtic. Maurizio Sarri's side scored another decisive 95th-minute goal, this time to take all three points back to Rome from Glasgow.
Celtic opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Kyogo Furuhashi after being dominant in the opening 10 minutes. The Biancocelesti equalised through Matias Vecino 20 minutes later.
With Celtic having had their own late goal ruled out for offside, Pedro appeared in the 95th minute and directed Matteo Guendouzi's lofted ball into the back of the net, much to the delight of the travelling supporters.
Whilst the result will please Sarri, the performance will likely earn his side some choice words. The Aquile, again, looked poor which needs rectifying if this season is to be a success.
