The opening weeks of the 2024/25 Serie A season will continue to have some surprising names positioned up and down the table, but the Matchday 3 action began with champions Inter and Torino continuing positive starts to the campaign, with wins over Atalanta and Venezia respectively, to take seven points from three games.

Striker Romelu Lukaku made a wonderful start to life in Naples, by helping Napoli to a last gasp 2-1 win over Parma, while Lazio and AC Milan drew 2-2 further up the peninsula in Rome. Ahead of those fixtures, Lecce registered a first win of the season, defeating Cagliari 1-0, but Bologna continue to struggle, as the could only draw 1-1 with Empoli.

On Sunday evening, Juventus were held to a 0-0 draw by AS Roma, with the Giallorossi continuing to struggle for goals. Udinese, meanwhile, secured a second consecutive win with a 1-0 victory over Como 1907, but rode their luck as the visitors missed a 95th minute penalty.

Earlier in the day, Fiorentina left it late to come from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against Monza, whilst high-flying Genoa were brought crashing back down to Earth with a 2-0 defeat at home to Hellas Verona.
