2024/25 Champions League draw: Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Bologna league-phase opponents confirmed
The group stage draw for the 2024/25 Champions League league phase has taken place with the Serie A representatives of Juventus, Inter, AC Milan, Atalanta and Bologna all discovering the eight teams that they will face.
This is the first league phase draw since the format change which sees the tournament expand from 32 teams to 36. They will now play in a 36-team league in which the top eight progress, and 9th-24th go into a play-off. The final eight teams are eliminated with no pathway to the Europa League.
The draw took place in Monaco on Thursday, August 29 at 18:00 CEST.
How does the new Champions League format work?
The new format means that each team faces eight others, with four of the games at home and four of them away. The change has been made largely so that there are more games between the biggest sides in the tournament.
We have a full explainer of the new Champions League format which only impacts the first round, now the league phase. The Italian teams were unable to be drawn against one another in the group stage, with Inter in Pot 1, AC Milan, Juventus and Atalanta in Pot 2, and Bologna in Pot 4.

2024/25 Champions League final: When and where is it?
The final of the 2024/25 Champions League is going to take place in one of the most recognisable stadiums in Europe. Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena is the host venue, meaning there is the potential for a host club to compete in their own stadium in the final.
The final will take place on May 31, 2025 in Munich, Germany.
