AC Milan came from behind to earn a 2-1 win over Newcastle United at St James' Park in Matchday 6 of the Champions League, but it wasn't enough to prevent them being eliminated from the competition.

Trailing to a Joelinton thunderbolt at half-time, Milan drew level thanks to a Christian Pulisic equaliser but looked set to finish bottom of Group F with a draw when Rafael Leao struck the post when clean through. However, the Rossoneri snatched victory late on through an excellent Samuel Chukwueze effort to leapfrog their Premier League opponents.

The win sees Milan finish third in the group and drop into the Europa League, courtesy of Paris Saint-Germain's draw against Borussia Dortmund. The French club finish second behind Dortmund, whilst Newcastle are eliminated from European football.
