Serie A table after Matchday 21

The Serie A table is going to get harder to follow thanks to Matchday 21's action, with four of the games scheduled to take place in February due to the Supercoppa Italiana.

AS Roma dropping to ninth was enough for Jose Mourinho to get the sack, but Daniele De Rossi's first game in charge ended with the Giallorossi seeing out a 2-1 win over Verona which took them above Napoli.

AC Milan moved a step closer to Juventus and a step further away from Fiorentina with their 3-2 win away at Udinese, a game which had to be stopped at one stage due to the racist abuse Mike Maignan was experiencing from the stands at the Dacia Arena.

Frosinone climbed the table with their 3-1 win over Cagliari, whilst Genoa did the same by beating Salernitana 2-1. Empoli gave themselves a better chance of survival by winning 3-0 at home to mid-table Monza.

There was a change to the top of the table on Sunday night as Juventus beat Lecce and moved one point ahead of Inter, with the Nerazzurri having a game in hand.

Bologna vs Fiorentina, Torino vs Lazio, Sassuolo vs Napoli, Inter vs Atalanta are all Matchday 21 fixtures but they are being played in late February.
