Napoli win 2024/25 Serie A!
Napoli have been crowned 2024/25 Men's Serie A champions, sealing the title with a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Matchday 38.
Scott McTominay opened the scoring with a stunning scissor-kick just before half-time, easing nerves at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Romelu Lukaku added a second early in the second half, shrugging off a defender before calmly finishing past Alen Sherri.
The title race was on a knife edge at kick-off, with Napoli leading Inter by just one point. When Stefan de Vrij scored for Inter at Como, the pressure was on. But McTominay’s acrobatic goal restored control, and Lukaku's finish sealed the win, sparking wild celebrations across Naples.
McTominay crowned Serie A’s best as fans hail 'McFratm'
Scott McTominay’s impact at Napoli this season has been immense — with 12 goals and six assists in 34 Serie A games — and he was named Serie A Player of the Season after the final whistle.
“The sacrifice of every single player in this group is just incredible. The people deserve it... it’s just a dream,” McTominay told DAZN.
“My Italian is okay," he added. "I just learned the words ‘festeggiamo, andiamo’ - let’s go celebrate.”
Inter, who beat Como 2-0, fell just short. “We didn’t deserve [the title]... but there’s a feeling we could have done more,” said De Vrij.
For Antonio Conte, it marks a triumphant return to the Serie A summit.
