Women's Football Podcast: Italy's Euro 2025 qualifiers get off to a mixed start
The Italy Women's National Team had a mixed time during their first two 2025 European Championships qualification campaign, with an impressive win and a slightly surprising defeat.
Andrea Soncin's side played their first game in Cosenza against a very talented Netherlands team that featured Juventus Women forward Lineth Beerensteyn. The Azzurre started excellently and took the lead through Valentina Giacinti, finishing off AS Roma teammate Manuel Giugliano's superb pass. The 2-0 win was sealed when Agnese Bonfantini poked in after a cross/shot from Inter teammate Michela Cambiaghi.

Italy then headed to Finland where, despite taking the lead, they ended up losing 2-1 against the Finnish, meaning all four teams sit on three points each after two games.
