Every Serie A and Serie B player at Euro 2024: 103 Italy-based players
Fans of Italian football tuning in to watch the Italy Men's National Team kick their 2024 European Championship campaign off with a 2-1 comeback win over Albania might have been surprised by how familiar they were with the Azzurri's opponents, given the number of Serie A and Serie B players included.
In fact, Serie A places second in the list of leagues with the most players involved at Euro 2024, with 90 Italian top-flight players involved. That number is calculated using the 2023/24 squads, with Sassuolo and Salernitana still counting and combining their four players at the tournament, while Parma's total of three goes towards Serie B's tally of 13.
The Azzurri aside, Albania are actually the most 'Italian' team at Euro 2024, with as many as ten of their squad playing for clubs in Italy, with Poland having nine and Serbia having seven.
France, Switzerland, Romania and Slovakia each have six players based in Italy, there are five from Slovenia.
