Matchday 24 of the 2023/24 Serie A season featured two huge matches as AS Roma hosted Inter and Napoli travelled north to take on AC Milan at the San Siro.

The action began on Friday night with Empoli beating Salernitana 3-1 in Salerno, a result that would prove to be the end of Pippo Inzaghi's time as coach of the Granata with them rooted to the bottom of the table and looking destined for Serie B.

On Saturday, Lazio impressed by winning 3-1 away at Cagliari, which was followed by an entertaining game in the capital where Inter beat in-form AS Roma 4-2, with both teams having come from behind. The day ended with Sassuolo drawing 1-1 with Torino.

Fiorentina emphatically beat Frosinone 5-1 in Sunday's early kick-off, and then Monza drew 0-0 with Verona. There were more goals in Bologna, as Thiago Motta's side beat Lecce 4-0. Atalanta had a great weekend too as they beat Genoa 4-1 in Liguria, with Charles De Ketelaere scoring a wonderful goal.

Sunday ended with AC Milan beating Napoli 1-0, with Theo Hernandez scoring the only goal of that game.

To end the matchday, Juventus managed to lose 1-0 at home to Udinese, which means Inter have an even clearer path to the Serie A title.
