The Matchday 15 Serie A results were always going to be particularly noteworthy, given the fixture list threw six of the top eight against one another.

Juventus were the big winners as the action got underway on Friday night with their 1-0 win at home to Napoli sending them, temporarily at least, to the top of the Serie A table.

Inter retook top spot 24 hours later with a comfortable home win over Udinese after third-placed AC Milan fell to a dramatic late defeat away at Atalanta, where Luis Muriel scored a stunning stoppage-time winner for the hosts.

Lazio slipped up with a 1-1 draw at Hellas Verona earlier in the day.

Sunday's matches began with Frosinone and Torino playing out a 0-0 draw. Monza then beat Genoa 1-0, before Bologna climbed to fifth by beating Salernitana 2-1.

Sunday ended with AS Roma and Fiorentina drawing 1-1, a game that saw Nicola Zalewski and Romelu Lukaku get sent off.

On Monday evening, Empoli and Lecce drew 1-1 before Cagliari scored twice in stoppage time to beat Sassuolo 2-1.
